DSU to host MEAC championships: Delaware State University will host Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championships in cross country and women’s volleyball this fall.
The MEAC cross country meet will be held on Oct. 29 at Delaware State’s Outreach and Research Center course in Smyrna.
It will be the seventh time that Delaware State has hosted the event, which was held at the Smyrna course for six straight years from 2014 to 2019. The meet was not held in 2020 due to Covid-19 and was hosted by North Carolina Central in 2021.
Delaware State will host the MEAC volleyball tournament for the first time this year. The eight-team single-elimination tourney is scheduled for Nov. 18-20 in Memorial Hall.
The event was hosted by Howard in three of the last four years, including 2021. Last season, Howard won its sixth MEAC championship in the last seven years, and 13th overall, defeating Delaware State, 3-1.
