Milton reached the Major League baseball state finals with a 9-7 win over MOT on Friday night.
The District III champions will take on Naamans on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Newark National needing a victory to force a second game for the title on Sunday.
The state champion moves on to the Mid-Atlantic Regional in Bristol, Conn.
For Milton, Friday’s win avenged a 5-4 loss to MOT in the first game eof the tournament. Newark National is trying to win its second state crown in the last four years and fifth since 2011.
8-10 tournament
MOT 16, Canal 6: The Middletown-area squad forced a second game for the state championship with the victory on Friday night.
The two squads will play again on Saturday at 7 p.m. in Lewes with the winner advancing to the East Regional in Kranston, R.I.
Daniel Radovanovic, Evan Anderson (5 RBI), Dawson Soldo, Kyle Bailey and Brant Abbott all had two hits as MOT finished with 13 hits in the contest.
Winning pitcher Billy Windley allowed only one earned run in 5.1 innings before Trevor Abbott got the last two outs.
