The South champion Indians, who got three saves from Kai Kelley, out-shot the Bulldogs, 13-3, and held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
Laurel goalie Noah Ros made nine saves.
IR will face North champion Cape Henlopen in the Henlopen Conference championship game on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Milford High. Tickets are $5.
Middletown 2, Smyrna 0: The Cavaliers netted two first-half goals before blanking the Eagles.
Alex Valle Roman made 12 saves for Smyrna as Middletown out-shot the Eagles, 14-6.
Sussex Central 9, Sussex Tech 1: The Golden Knights led only 3-1 at halftime before netting six unanswered second-half goals in the North win.
William Penn 2, Sussex Central 1: In a game played Monday, the Golden Knights dropped the non-conference contest in overtime.
Field hockey
Lake Forest 2, Woodbridge 2: Lacey Hutson’s goal with 1:10 remaining in regulation gave the Spartans the Henlopen South tie.
Brynn String tallied Lake Forest’s first goal while Madison Lawson made 18 saves.
Mariah Maddox and Payton Keeler (1 assist) scored goals for the Blue Raiders, who finished with advantages of 20-6 in shots and 25-5 in corners. Abigail Tatman made four saves.
Polytech 2, Laurel 0: The Panthers picked up the shutout win to finish the season at 6-9.
Sussex Tech 5, Sussex Central 0: The Ravens scored twice in the first quarter before posting the Henlopen North victory.
Caravel 1, Indian River 0: The Buccaneers made a first-quarter goal stand up in the win at DE Turf.
Sussex Academy 12, Seaford 1: Callie Short tallied four goals and an assist with Rilyn Lehman adding two goals and three assists in the Seahawks’ Henlopen South win on Monday.
Red Lion Christian 2, Delmarva Christian 1: The Royals fell to 2-11 with the loss.
Henlopen title game set: South champion Delmar will take on North winner Cape Henlopen in the Henlopen Conference championship game on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lake Forest. Tickets are $5.
Cross country
Henlopen meet on Saturday: The Henlopen Conference championship meet in cross country will be held on Saturday at Killens Pond State Park.
The varsity girls’ race is slated to start at 3:20 p.m. with the boys’ race to follow at 4 p.m.
College football
DSU’s Smith earns MEAC award: Delaware State receiver Rahkeem Smith was named the MEAC Rookie of the Week after scoring three touchdowns and combining for 102 total yards in a 28-1 loss to North Carolina Central.
He scored all three Delaware State touchdowns, two receiving and the other on a running play. He caught three passes for 55 yards and had two rushes for 47 yards in the game.
His third touchdown, from 48 yards after catching a pass from C.J. Henry, gave the Hornets a 21-20 lead with just under four minutes left to play.
