Dover blanked MOT, 10-0. on Friday to reach the District I championship game in Senior League baseball.
Dover (3-0), which posted its second straight shutout, will play in the finals on Sunday at 7 p.m. in Middletown.
A second title game will be played on Tuesday night if necessary. The district champion advances to the state tournament, which starts on July 9 at Sussex County’s District III.
In Friday’s win, Aidan Durham pitched a five-inning two-hitter with just one walk and seven strikeouts to earn the shutout. Greyson Smith Smith went 3-for-3 and drove in six of Dover’s 10 runs while Chase Greene (2 RBI) and Eythan Jenks added two hits apiece.
Smyrna-Clayton 10, Milford 6: Smyrna-Clayton reached the losers’ bracket finals with the win on Friday night.
Smyrna-Clayton plays at host MOT at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
In a back-and-forth game, Smyrna-Clayton took an early 6-0 lead but Milford tied it with six runs in the third. Smyrna-Clayton then won it with four runs in the eighth.
Pitchers Mason Juhl and Ethan Brick combined to pitch five shutout innings for Smyrna-Clayton. Isaac Balcerak (double) and Brick (triple) both had two hits and a pair of runs scored while Joey Gasson scored twice.
Tyler Brown pitched four shutout innings for Milford with Josh Miller adding two hits.

MOT-Blue 13, MOT-Red 5: MOT-Blue won the title in the District I tournament with the win on Friday.
Blue won three straight games, including two in a row over Red, to finish 4-1 in the tourney.

MOT 12, Smyrna-Clayton 2: The Middletown-Odessa-Townsend all-stars captured the District I title with the victory on Friday night.
MOT went 3-0 in the tournament, out-scoring its opponents by a combined 49-3. MOT will also host the state tourney, beginning on July 7.
In Friday’s victory, pitcher Ava Perrucci surrendered only two hits with no walks while striking out eight in five innings. Kaysa Johnson and Kayly Clugston each had a triple and double for MOT with Perrucci also adding a pair of hits.
Cara Nacrelli and Caleigh Sweetman both doubled for Smyrna-Clayton’s Little Lass.

DSU’s Julia wins title in Romania: Delaware State’s Daria Julia has captured a national women’s tennis championship in her home country of Romania this summer.
Julia, a native of Oradea, took first place in the event organized by the Romanian Federation of Tennis, winning each of her four matches against some of the country’s top players.
“Daria was defeated in the final of the same tournament last year, so it’s exciting to see the development in her overall game,” said Delaware State women’s tennis coach Pavel Zenchenko. “We’re expecting big things from her this upcoming season.
