Kendall Small and Jordan Hutchins combined to pitch a five-inning no-hitter as Dover High blanked Woodbridge, 12-0, in Henlopen Conference baseball on Wednesday afternoon.

Small struck out nine for the unbeaten Senators (3-0 in conference, 3-0 overall) while adding two RBI at the plate. Zach Stone had two hits and four RBI with Dakota Graham adding a pair of hits and two runs scored.

Woodbridge reliever Logan Wescott struck out two.

Dover hosts rival Caesar Rodney today at 4:15 p.m. at its old high school field.

Caesar Rodney 9, Polytech 5: The Riders used a pair of homeruns from Levi Kapp (2-for-4, 4 RBI) and Aaron Vogel (2 RBI) to down the Panthers.

Tim Haugh added two hits with a double and an RBI for CR (3-0 in conference, 3-1 overall), which scored four runs in the top of the fifth to open up a 7-2 lead. Jake Williams pitched six innings to earn the win.

Sussex Tech 2, Smyrna 1: The Ravens scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to top the Eagles.

Smyrna tied the game with a run in the top of the sixth. Ryan Swingle earned the win for Sussex Tech with Corey Everage pitching for the Eagles.

Cape Henlopen 6, Delmar 2: The Vikings scored three runs in the sixth and seventh to rally from a 2-0 deficit.

Austin Elliott pitched a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts to earn the win. He allowed only two runs in the first while throwing a total of 101 pitches.

Softball

Woodbridge 4, Dover 2: Hailey Andrews pitched a four-hitter with 17 strikeouts as the Raiders rallied to down the Senators.

Brady Keeler had two of Woodbridge’s six hits. The Raiders trailed 2-0 before scoring three runs in the fourth.

Dover pitcher Katie Dunlap struck out eight while Monica Joseph hit a first-inning homerun.

Sussex Central 6, Milford 5: Taylor Evick drove in the winning run in the top of the sixth to break a 5-5 tie as the Golden Knights earned their first victory.

Haley McCabe pitched a four-hitter with eight strikeouts to pick up the win.

Milford scored all of its runs in the bottom of the fifth to knot the score.

Indian River 16, Seaford 1: Eliza Bomhardt and Julia Bomhardt had three hits each to spark the Indians’ 16-hit attack.

Casey Hitchens pitched a four-hitter to earn the victory.

Sussex Tech 8, Smyrna 3: Leading only 3-2, the Ravens scored three runs in the fourth and two more in the sixth to take control.

Courtney Tatte had three hits, including a double and homer, with three RBI while Nicole Hovatter hit a two-run triple. Winning pitcher Alleigh Townsend struck out five.

Delmar 10, Cape Henlopen 0: Alexis Layton tossed a one-hitter as the Wildcats blanked the Vikings.

Delmar finished with 12 hits, taking control with four runs in the second.

Lacrosse

Boys, Caesar Rodney 18, Sussex Central 0: The Riders (4-0) stayed undefeated with the Henlopen Conference win.

Milford 11, Indian River 5: Mathew Viramontes scored five goals as the Buccaneers (5-0) remained unbeaten.

Ring Lardner (1 assist) added three goal while Zachary Heesh scored twice for Milford, which led 5-1 at halftime. Clay Stevenson made eight saves.

Cape Henlopen 16, Dover 7: The Vikings pulled away to the conference victory after leading only 6-4 at halftime.

Sussex Tech 14, Smyrna 6: Jason Whaley netted four goals to pace the Ravens to the Henlopen win.

Matthew Tull (3 assists) and Ian Carlisle (1 assist) added three goals each with Travis Quillin (4 assists) and Nathaniel Quillin (3 assists) both scoring twice. Jacob Ryan made seven saves for Sussex Tech, which outscored the Eagles 8-3 in the second half.

Jonathan Guzman had two goals for Smyrna while Matthew Sarkissian had a goal and two assists. Nathan Williamson made 13 saves.

Delmar 16, Lake Forest 8: Chance Watts netted five goals for the Wildcats, who outscored the Spartans 8-3 in the second half.

Andrew Blewitt added three goals and four assists while Linnie Vann (1 assist), Nicholas Smith and Logan Thomas all scored twice for Delmar.

Lake’s Carter Kenton netted four goals, Benjamin Moore had two and Ryan Sipple added three assists. Dylan Lloyd made four saves.

Archmere 18, Polytech 7: Jeremey Armann and Robert Mason scored two goals apiece for the Panthers in their nonconference loss.

Nathan Fairbanks made eight saves as the Auks outshot Polytech, 28-18.

Girls, Polytech 18, St. Thomas More 7: Jamie Trabaudo netted six goals and an assist to lead the Panthers.

Allie McKay added two goals and three assists while Arlene Maheu also scored twice for Polytech. Eight other players scored one goal each as the Panthers outshot the Ravens 29-14.

Joanna Petrosky had four goals with Virginia McMahon netting the other three goals for St. Thomas More. Sarah Hayes made six saves.

Girls’ soccer

Smyrna 9, Dover 1: Stacey Staley and Samantha Greim (1 assist) tallied three goals apiece as the Eagles improved to 3-0 with the Henlopen North win on Tuesday night.

Allison Hubert, Marissa McClenton and Nnennaya Okorie also scored goals for Smyrna with Casey Bell adding four assists. The Eagles, who got six saves from Emily Fardoulis, outshot Dover, 22-7.

Kathryn Ford scored for the Senators while Brittany Rosello made 13 saves.

Newark 3, Polytech 1: Alyssa Jacobs netted a first-half goals for the Panthers in their nonconference loss on Tuesday.

Amanda Deputy made 10 saves as the Yellowjackets outshot Polytech, 13-10.

Indian River 7, Milford 1: Madison Hogsten netted four goals as the Indians improved to 3-0.

Sarah Buchler added two goals and a pair of assists for IR.

Delmar 9, Seaford 0: MacKenzie Niblett, Ashley Arter and Ashlyn Carr tallied two goals each as the Wildcats won their third straight game.

Lauren Spicer and Peyton Kemp scored Delmar’s other goals.

College baseball

La Salle 11, Delaware 5: The La Salle bats proved to be too much for the Blue Hens for the second time this season.

The Hens (10-10) lost to La Salle (14-13) in the first round of the Liberty Bell Classic on March 24 by a 9-1 score and have now lost three of the last four meetings against the Explorers.

Greg Olenski, Joe Giacchino, Norm Donkin led Delaware with two hits, while Jeremy Ake recorded a team-high two RBI.

Rider 5, Delaware State 1: The Broncs used seven pitchers to silence the Hornets, who stranded 12 runners on base.

Delaware State (6-16) also used seven pitchers and scored their lone run on a solo home run from Ron Farley in the sixth inning. It was Farley’s team-leading sixth homer of the year.

Salisbury 7, Wesley 3: The Wolverines opened up a 3-0 lead against the No. 1-ranked Sea Gulls before Salisbury rallied for the victory.

Mike Calvarese had a two-run single in the third as Wesley scored all three of its runs in the inning.

College softball

Hens sweep Rider: Delaware erupted for 21 runs and 23 hits as the Blue Hens swept Rider, 10-0 and 11-3.

Danielle Wissinger posted a team-high five hits, while Leanna Gearhart added three triples and Mariah Kondravy homered in both ends of the twinbill. Sarah Bencivenga contributed three doubles for the Hens (18-11).

College lacrosse

Men, Salisbury 17, Wesley 2: Wolverine goalie Josh Dean stopped 17 shots in the loss to the No. 13 Sea Gulls.

Wesley (0-3 CAC, 5-4 overall) also got four caused turnovers and six ground balls from Eric Bohns. Jack O’Neill and James Moss also grabbed four ground balls while O’Neill won 10-of-23 faceoffs.

Bohns and Moss scored the Wolverines’ goals.

Women, Salisbury 19, Wesley 2: The sixth-ranked Sea Gulls (4-0 CAC, 8-2 overall) netted the game’s first 12 goals in the conference win.

Rylee Gould and Kaitlin Brennan scored goals for Wesley (0-3, 4-6). Kaitlyn Ennis led Wesley with four draw controls while Jessica Giaccone grabbed a team-high three ground balls. Savannah Clough stopped seven shots in goal.
