Dover High tallied 12 first-half goals before downing Delaware Military, 16-6, to stay unbeaten in girls’ lacrosse Monday evening.
Kyleigh Dill netted five goals and three assists for the Senators (5-0), who led 12-3 at intermission.
Also pacing Dover were Superia Clark (3 goals, 1 assist), Ashtyn Torbert (2 goals, 1 assist) and Kylla Henry (2 goals). Eight Senators scored in the contest while Shaina Hall-Carter made 10 saves.
Caesar Rodney 14, Lake Forest 3: The Riders scored six unanswered goals in the second half to close out the win.
Lyndsey Weller (3 goals, 2 assists), Alexis Riley (2 goals), Ella Price (2 goals, 2 assists), Rylie Faircloth (2 goals) and Elle Roberts (2 goals, 1 assist) led CR, which got three saves from Mellissa Dolt.
Emma Massey had the Spartans’ three goals while Giulia Sweet recorded five saves.
Parkside, Md. 21, Sussex Tech 0: Bethany Covey made seven saves for the Ravens in the loss.
Boys’ lacrosse
Dover 8, Concord 1: The Senators improved to 2-3 with the nonconference win.
First State Military 12, Wilm. Christian 9: The Bulldogs raised their record to 2-3 with the victory.
Softball
Caesar Rodney 1, Lake Forest 0: Ashlyn Schmidt’s solo home run in the third ended up giving the Riders (4-0) the win.
Winning pitcher Peyton Shields threw a four-hitter with 12 strikeouts in earning the shutout.
Carah Sumpter also pitched a four-hitter for the Spartans. She struck out three.
Baseball
Salesianum 8, Delmar 7: The Wildcats took the Sals to the 12th inning before dropping the nonconference contest on Saturday.
Sallies scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to send the game into extra innings tied at 4-4. Both teams then scored three runs in the eighth.
Andrew Callaway went 3-for-6 with two doubles, three RBI and a run scored for Delmar.
Girls’ soccer
Cape Henlopen 1, Lake Forest 0: Ava Dolan’s goal in the 10th minute ended up giving the Vikings (4-2) their fourth one-goal victory.
Brianna Burrell made four saves as Cape held advantages of 5-4 in shots and 3-2 in corner kicks.
Kadija Bundu made four saves for the Spartans.
Delaware Military 8, First State Military 0: Paige Cahall made seven saves for the Bulldogs in the loss.
College baseball
Delaware State 12, Norfolk State 5: After leading the Hornets offensively on Saturday, DSU outfielder/pitcher Evan Harris struck out a season-high 11 in 7.2 innings on Sunday.
DelState (6-6 MEAC, 9-12 overall) took three put of four games in the MEAC series.
Mike Worthington went 4-for-5 with a team-best two RBI while Alan Alonso was 3-for-4.
Harris was named MEAC Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
Delaware 6, Towson 2: Zach Klapak allowed just one hit in 5.2 innings of scoreless relief as the Blue Hens completed a three-game CAA sweep of the Tigers on Sunday.
Delaware allowed only four runs in the three games, the fewest in a weekend set since the Hens gave up four to Hofstra in 2014. The Hens (4-2 CAA, 15-10) have also won five games in a row for the first time since 2019.
Blue Hen junior righthander Joey Silan was named the CAA Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
Silan allowed just one hit and struck out a season-high seven batters in six scoreless innings to pick up his first win of the year on Saturday.
Softball
Delaware 7, Elon 2: The Blue Hens (4-2 CAA, 20-11 overall) used a six-run fifth inning to complete the three-game sweep of the Phoenix on Sunday.
Hanna Garber had three hits and was on base four times with a walk. Sarah Bessel had two hits and scored two runs, while Halle Kisamore, Brittney Mendoza and Kailey Christian were all on base twice and scored a run.
North Carolina Central 8, Delaware State 1: Courtney Kohel had two of Delaware State’s four hits, and the Hornets’ lone RBI.
