Abram Leah's overtime goal gave Dover High a 3-2 victory over Caesar Rodney in Henlopen North boys’ soccer on Thursday night.
It was the first time the Senators (4-1 North, 5-4-1 overall) beat the Riders (4-1 North, 6-3 overall) since 2010. The loss also snapped a 35-game North unbeaten streak for CR.
The victory puts Dover in first place in the North standings.
Trailing 1-0 at halftime, the Senators scored twice in the second half before the contest went into overtime.
Leah also scored Dover's first goal with Rolando Betancourt-Mejia adding a goal and an assist. Alex Escalante-Diaz made seven saves for the Senators as the Riders finished with advantages of 9-7 in shots and 5-2 in corner kicks.
Thad Glasser netted a goal in each half for CR with Jacoby Sheaffer stopping four shots.
Cape Henlopen 2, Milford 1: Cardin Benjamin and Jacob Schell both tallied first-half goals in the Vikings’ Henlopen North win.
Dru Schneider made five saves as Cape Henlopen held advantages of 8-6 in shots and 6-3 in corner kicks.
Thompson Burke scored the Buccaneers with Fernando Flores stopping six shots.
Polytech 2, Sussex Tech 0: The Panthers used a pair of first-half goals to down the Ravens.
Sussex Central 4, Smyrna 2: The Golden Knights scored three second-half goals to rally for the Henlopen North win.
Justin Glasco made six saves for Central, which had advantages of 13-8 in shots and 5-4 in corner kicks.
The Eagles got goals from Daniel Lerro and Joseph Beamer and nine saves from Alex Valle Roman.
Delmar 3, Lake Forest 1: Mathias Ford netted the Wildcats’ first and last goals in the Henlopen South victory.
Dilber Marquez Saenz also scored for Delmar, which out-shot the Spartans, 9-8.
Jackson Starkey’s goal in the 48th minute tied the contest for Lake Forest.
Sussex Academy 2, Seaford 1: The Seahawks edged the Blue Jays in a Henlopen South contest.
Field hockey
Caesar Rodney 3, Dover 2: The Riders edged the Senators in a Henlopen North matchup.
It was CR’s first victory over Dover since 2013. Five of the last nine meetings in the rivalry have been decided by just one goal with another ending in a tie.
Sussex Tech 12, Polytech 0: Ryan Lowe, Hanna Walls and Karli Penrod all scored twice for the Ravens in the Henlopen North win.
Nine players scored goals for Sussex Tech.
Cape Henlopen 6, Milford 0: Hannah Maney and Addison Basile both scored twice in the Vikings’ Henlopen North victory.
Cape Henlopen finished with advantages of 29-2 in shots and 12-3 in corners in its ninth shutout of the season.
Melissa Mesidor made 18 saves for the Buccaneers.
Delmar 8, Lake Forest 0: Josie Hollamon and Maci Bradford (2 assists) netted three goals apiece for the Wildcats (12-0) in the Henlopen South win.
The Spartans’ Madison Lawson made 33 saves. Delaware finished with 48 shots and 22 corners.

Cape Henlopen 3, Milford 0: The Vikings posted a 25-6, 25-7, 25-9 victory in a Henlopen North matchup.
Ava Calciano (8 kills, 2 aces), Kalista Lawson (4 kills, 4 aces) and Tatum Friend (5 kills, 1 ace) paced Cape Henlopen.
Smyrna 3, Polytech 1: The Eagles shook off a first-set loss to pick up a 22-25, 25-8, 25-12, 25-11 Henlopen North victory.
Dover 3, Sussex Central 2: The Senators won the tiebreaker to take the North match, 25-14, 18-25, 25-20, 23-25, 15-7.
Takyla Davis 15 kills and 11 digs for the Golden Knights.
Delmarva Christian 3, Lake Forest 0: The Royals improved to 10-1 with the 25-11, 25-11, 25-15 victory.
Elaina Millaway had 11 kills, Ellie Millaway had eight kills, Rachel Fetterman had 17 digs and Tessa Kwiatkowski had 19 assists for Delmarva Christian.
Sussex Academy 3, Seaford 0: The Seahawks won the Henlopen South matchup by scores of 25-8, 25-6, 25-14.

WOMEN, Monmouth 3, Delaware 1: Lea Panagiotidis scored the lone goal for the Blue Hens (1-4-2 CAA, 2-9-5 overall) while Odaliana Gomez made five saves.
