Jaden Davis returned a kick for a touchdown, caught a touchdown and ran for another score to lead the Vikings.
Cape Henlopen improved to 2-6 overall and 2-3 in the Henlopen North.
Delmar 41, Seaford 0: Jacob VonArx threw for a touchdown and ran for another in the Henlopen South victory.
Rajay Allen also ran for a pair of touchdowns. Brian Spence and Te’Kwon Dennard added rushing touchdowns for the Wildcats.
Volleyball
Delmarva Christian 3, Holly Grove Christian, Md. 0: The Royals captured the ESIAC championship in the straight set win.
Savannah Stewart led the way with nine kills while Mia Berger and Sierra Troyer each recorded seven kills. Ashlyn Stonebraker provided 27 assists.
Set scores were 25-15, 25-15 and 25-15.
Field hockey
Polytech 7, Appoquinimink 0: The Panthers earned the nonconference victory on Friday.
Middletown 2, Caesar Rodney 1: Abigail Cholewa scored for the Riders who dropped the road contest.
College field hockey
Delaware 8, Hofstra 4: A season-high in goals, points and shots and multiple players with career games and the No. 12 Blue Hens picked up the 8-4 victory at Hofstra.
Junior Femke Strien led Delaware with a career-best seven points, including her first career hat trick.
Sophomore Grace Hoepfner registered a career-high two goals while classmate Grace Miller logged a career-best three points on a goal and her first career assist for the Hens.
Freshman Kerri McClay gathered her first career goal and assist while graduate student Milan Spooren posted her first career assist.
Freshman Ashlyn Carr (Delmar High) notched the first goal of the afternoon just four minutes into the contest.
Sophomore Lizzie Gaebel saw her first start in the cage this season and collected two saves for her fifth career victory.
College volleyball
UNCW 3, Delaware 0: Senior libero Andie Hanus had 32 digs Friday night to reach 1,000 in her collegiate career, but her defensive efforts weren’t enough as the Delaware volleyball team fell in straight sets (22-25, 19-25, 17-25) at UNCW.
Hanus set her season high in digs, just one shy of her career high and added her first kill of the season. Senior Maria Bellinger led the way with 12 kills and two blocks while classmate Bailey Pearlman had six kills and four blocks.
