Josh Reinhold pitched a complete-game six-hitter with nine strikeouts for the Vikings (11-2), who won their 10th game in a row. The loss was the first of the season for the Jaguars (12-1).
Terhune reached base three times, Paris Mitchell had two hits and Brian Fleming tied the game at 1-1 by scoring in the fifth.
Evan Bouldin and Cameron Coco had two hits apiece for Appo.
Salesianum 8, Sussex Central 5: The Golden Knights fell to 8-4 with the nonconference loss.
Sussex Tech 10, Laurel 0: Rosnell Lewis went 3-for-3 with three RBI for the Ravens, who scored six runs in the second.
Zane Adams and Dakota Culley combined on a five-inning two-hitter with Jonathan Stokley (two triples, 1 RBI) and Carson Mears was (2-for-2, 2RBI) also leading Sussex Tech.
Jaden Snyder and Isaiah Miller had the Bulldogs’ hits.
Sussex Academy 8, Tatnall 0: Wyatt Skinner pitched a complete-game four-hitter to earn the shutout for the Seahawks,
Jack Donahue had four hits, with a pair of doubles, while Emerson Layton added three hits to Sussex Academy’s 12-hit attack.
Delmarva Christian 8, Red Lion 6: Aaron Brown singled home the winning run in the bottom of the fifth to give the Royals the win.
Chet Furmanek added a solo home run in the sixth while winning pitcher Dylan Briggs had two doubles.
Polytech 9, Seaford 2: The Panthers improved to 5-7 with the victory.
Indian River 10, Milford 1: Roman Keith went 4-for-5 to pace the Indians, who scored all 10 of their runs in the first three innings.
Woodbridge 18, Odyssey Charter 2: The Blue Raiders were led by Cooper Andrews (3-for-3, 2 RBI), Seth Smart (2 hits, 4 RBI) and Austin Griffith (double, home run).
Softball
Caesar Rodney 8, Newark Charter 6: Ashlyn Schmidt’s two-run triple in the top of the 13th broke a 5-5 tie in the Riders’ marathon victory.
The contest was tied 2-2 after nine innings. Bailey Minear added an RBI on a sacrifice fly in the 13th to give CR an 8-5 advantage.
Peyton Shields pitched all 13 innings for the Riders, giving up 11 hits but striking out 23. Stacey Deputy homered in the 12th.
Polytech 9, Odessa 1: Catcher Lara Pink went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two RBI to pace the Panthers.
Cheyenne Silves added two hits as eight Polytech players had hits in the contest. Winning pitcher Mara Everton threw 5 2/3 shutout innings, allowing only one hit with no walks and 12 strikeouts.
Girls’ lacrosse
Lake Forest 7, Conrad 4: Emma Massey netted four goals for the Spartans, who used three unanswered goals in the second half to earn the win.
Ellie Biddle scored twice and Giulia Sweet made eight saves.
Indian River 10, Sussex Tech 9: Kylie Harris netted six goals while Caylee Schmidt made 10 saves.
The Ravens’ Tori Adams tallied six goals and Bethany Covey made 10 saves.
Tower Hill 26, Polytech 10: Madison Todd (two assists) netted five goals and Elizabeth Szell added four in the Panthers’ loss.
Lake Forest 10, Milford 7: The Spartans got four goals from Emma Massey and 18 saves from Giulia Sweet in the Henlopen win.
Boys’ lacrosse
Dover 8, Polytech 4: The Senators won their fourth game in a row to improve to 6-5.
Milford 16, Sussex Central 3: The Buccaneers scored seven goals in the first and third quarters of the North win.
Girls’ soccer
Sussex Tech 3, William Penn 2: Syaira Selby scored in the 69th minute to lift the Ravens.
Taylor Savage added a first-half goal for Sussex Tech, which finished with advantages of 14-3 in shots and 11-2 in corner kicks.
College football
Hens pick up wide receiver: Chandler Harvin, who spent the last four seasons playing under Ryan Carty at Sam Houston State, is now joining his former coach at Delaware.
A grad transfer with two seasons of eligibility remaining, the 6-foot-2, 195-pounder had 69 catches for 974 yards and seven touchdowns in 31 games for the Bearkats.
“Chandler is a proven playmaker at the FCS level,” said Carty. “His size and speed will help us as an offense immediately, and his physicality and toughness will fit right in with our UD culture.”
College lacrosse
MEN, Delaware 14, Fairfield 12: The Blue Hens earned the top seed in the upcoming CAA Tournament with the win.
Delaware (3-2 CAA, 9-5 overall), which won the CAA championship for the second title for the second straight year, shares the title with Towson and UMass. The Hens open the tourney Thursday with a 4 p.m. game at host Drexel, the No. 4 seed.
With Saturday’s contest tied 12-12, Delaware netted the fourth quarter’s only two goals to notch the victory.
Goalie Matt Kilkeary finished with a career-high 19 saves. Tye Kurtz tallied four goals and two assists while Mike Robinson and Mark Bieda tallied three goals each.
WOMEN, Towson 17, Delaware 10: Despite the loss, the Blue Hens took the No. 4 seed in the CAA Tournament.
Delaware (2-4 CAA, 5-11) will play the top-seeded Tigers again Friday at 4 p.m. at Drexel. It will be the Hens’ first appearance in the CAA tourney since 2018.
College baseball
Hornets take split: Delaware State withstood a seven-run Norfolk State rally in the bottom of the seventh to top the Spartans, 12-10, and earn a split in a MEAC twinbill.
Norfolk won the opener, 4-3. C.J. Loper got the final out of the nightcap with the bases loaded for his league-leading eighth save for the Hornets (14-13 MEAC, 17-20 overall).
Pitcher Brandon Hatch (Caesar Rodney) earned his second win of the season after throwing four and one-third innings of relief. He struck out four and gave up only four hits.
Charleston 6, Delaware 5: The Cougars (15-2 CAA, 28-14 overall) scored four runs in a decisive sixth-inning rally.
Jordan Hutchins (Dover) homered for the Blue Hens (6-8 CAA, 22-19 overall) while Joseph Carpenter went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles.
College softball
DSU drops two: Delaware State opened its final series of the regular season with a 10-3, 9-5 doubleheader loss to MEAC rival Howard. The Hornets are now 3-16 MEAC and 4-32 overall.
