Camden-Wyoming beat Smyrna-Clayton twice on Monday night to capture the District I softball title.
Camden-Wyoming won by scores of 17-15 and then 13-9 to capture the championship in Little League’s age division for 14-16 year olds.
The title earns Camden-Wyoming a spot in the two-team, best-of-three state tournament which starts on Saturday at Suburban in New Castle County. C-W avenged a 20-9 loss to Smyrna-Clayton’s Little Lass earlier in the district tourney.
The Senior League World Series is being played at Lower Sussex in Roxana.
Camden-Wyoming 19, Dover 0: Camden-Wyoming downed Dover on Sunday evening to advance to the District I finals.
In Sunday’s victory, Amy Gaddis pitched three no-hit innings with seven strikeouts for Camden-Wyoming. Alyssa Kennard, who pitched the final inning of the shutout, Amiyah Carpenter, Audrey Carroll and Keira Fendt all had triples.
Also for C-W, Maddie Carrow and Gaddis both went 4-for-4.

Georgetown 14, MOT 0: Georgetown shut out MOT on Monday night to win the state championship in Major League softball.
The District III champions advance to the East Regional, which begins on July 23 at Bristol, Conn.
Georgetown won all three of its state tourney games by shutout, winning by a combined 31-0.
Host MOT, the District I champion, finished 1-2 in the tourney.
MOT 11. New Castle/Suburban 1: The Middletown-area all-stars advanced to the state championship with the victory on Sunday night.
On Sunday, Ava Perrucci allowed only two hits and no walks while striking out eight in four innings. Perrucci also went 2 for 3 with a double while Peyton Hungerford added a hit.

MOT 8, Lower Sussex 0: The District I champions won by shutout in the opener of the state tourney on Monday night.
The two squads play again on Tuesday on 7 p.m. in Lower Sussex in the best-of-three series. The state champion earns a spot in the East Regional in Orange, Conn.
8-10 tournament
MOT 6, Smyrna-Clayton 1: Middletown-Odessa-Townsend captured the District I title with the win on Sunday.
MOT moves onto to the state tournament, which begins on July 19 at Camden-Wyoming.
Brynleigh Bennett allowed only three hits and one run in five innings for MOT. Harper Jacob pitched the final inning.
Bennett and Ella Austin (1 RBI) each had two hits with Molly Frantz adding an RBI
Smyrna-Clayton pitched Alivia Fox struck out 10 in six innings and also had a hit.

Georgetown plays again on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against the winner of Tuesday’s matchup between Dover and Naamans.
The state champion earns a spot in the Eastern Regional in Bangor, Maine.
Naamans 4, Dover 0: District II champion Naamans won the opener in the state tournament on Sunday night.
