UD’s Ingelsby gets contract extension: Delaware men’s basketball coach Martin Ingelsby has signed a contract extension through the 2028-29 season.

Ingelsby, who begins his seventh season at the helm of the program, has two years remaining on his contract and will receive an additional five years after that.

“Martin has done an outstanding job leading our men’s basketball program,” said UD President Dennis Assanis. “Being able to continue to have him as the leader of our championship-caliber program will benefit our institution and student-athletes immensely.”

In six seasons, Ingelsby has a 95-87 record with three seasons above .500 (excluding the shortened 2020-21 season), a pair of 20-win campaigns, and was just one of three Division I schools to increase its win total in four consecutive years from 2016-20.

Ingelsby has coached his Blue Hens to 11 all-conference, five all-district, and three rookie of the year nods, while seeing six student-athletes sign professional contracts, including Nate Darling, who became the first Blue Hen to play in the NBA.

“I’m incredibly proud of the program we have built over the last six years and I couldn’t be more excited for the future of Delaware basketball,” said Ingelsby.
