Milford won its third straight game, downing M.O.T.-Blue, 6-4, to reach the finals of the Deak Deakins tournament in District I Little League baseball action on Sunday.
Milford will play Camden-Wyoming/Gold in the championship game today at 6 p.m. at Felton.
Trent Lovett, Keegan Dennahy and D.J. Hostetler all went 2-for-2 for Milford in Sunday’s victory.
M.O.T.-Blue got two hits each from Jacob Sirman and Brandon Hortiz.
Camden-Wyoming/Gold 18, Felton-Blue 2: Jaidrian Sanchez collected a home run, two doubles, three runs and six RBI as Camden-Wyoming/Gold earned its spot in the finals.
Also leading Camden-Wyoming were Cameron Allen (3 hits, two doubles, 2 runs), Gavin Johnson (double, 2 RBI), Caleb Dufresne (2 hits), Danzel Jones (2 hits, 2 runs) and Brody Hinkle (3 runs).
For Felton-Blue, Troy Clippinger and Noah Crispen each had a hit.
Camden-Wyoming 22, Smyrna-Clayton 1: Pitchers Joshua Fredericks and Isaiah Stokes combined to allow only one run in four innings for Camden-Wyoming.
Tyler Parenteau and Jacob Weeks had three hits each with Caden Heritage, Merric Hunt, Cohen Parenteau and Fredericks all adding two hits.
M.O.T.-Blue 17, Dover 1: Ryan Kane had three hits as M.O.T.-Blue earned the win in the Pat Knight tourney.
Also leading M.O.T.-Blue were Trevor Henry (1 hit, 2 RBI), Jeffrey Eide (double) and Nolan Wilson (two hits).
M.O.T.-Red 10, Milford 0: Bill Burgh struck out eight and allowed only one ht in three scoreless innings for M.O.T.-Red.
Reliever Mikey Biondolilo struck out the side in his one inning whike Ian Keane (2-for-2, 2 RBI, 2 runs), Logan Aro (two-run double) and Sorio Denham (1 hit) and Eddie Stranahan (1 hit) paced M.O,T.-Red offensively.
Smyrna-Clayton 11, Camden-Wyoming/Blue 0: Kennedy Mareno went 3-for-3 with a triple, double and five RBI as Smyrna-Clayton picked up the win.
Smyrna-Clayton also got two hits apiece from Kaitlyn Brierly (double, 2 RBI), Norah Kelly (2 RBI) and Paxtyn Dixon (double).
Natalie Pennypacker had a pair of hits for Camden-Wyoming.
M.O.T.-Red 12, M.O.T.-Blue 8: McKenna Riley’s three-run triple sparked a four-run sixth inning that gave M.O.T.-Red the victory.
Zoe Ducos, Lucy Ponden, Divya Savage and Ella Friel also had hits in the inning while first baseman Gracie Riccio added two hits in the game.
M.O.T.-Blue was led by Katie Pinand (3-for-4 1 run, 1 RBI), Breanna Brown (3-for-3, 3 runs, 1 RBI), Morgan Burkett (2-for-4, 1 run, 2 RBI) and Kaley Arrowsmith (2-for-3).
Whitby aims for another Amateur title: Caesar Rodney High grad Jay Whitby will be going after his record fourth straight Delaware Amateur title when the three-day, 72-hole golf tournament opens today at Odessa National in Townsend.
The first threesome tees off at 8 a.m. today with the last one slated to start at 12:20 p.m. Whitby is scheduled to tee off at 11:10 a.m.
A 31-year-old from Wyoming who now plays out of Rehoboth Beach Country Club, Whitby is trying to become the first player to win the event four years in a row.
Former standout Blaise Giroso won the Amateur 10 times — including eight titles in an 11-year period — but never won the tournament more than three straight years.
Dover’s Chris Wisler had a three-year streak of winning the Amateur from 1999-2001.
