Little League Roundup: Cape-Georgetown Juniors stave off elimination

Cape/Georgetown scored 10 unanswered runs to defeat the host Freehold Township team 11-1 in an elimination game at the Junior League baseball East Regional on Sunday afternoon.

Nick Cox had three hits for the District III squad while Justin Marsh recorded three RBI. The game was tied 1-1 after the top of the third before Cape/Georgetown used back-to-back three-run innings to pull away.

Cape/Georgetown will face the winner of Sunday’s late game between New York and New Jersey in another elimination game today at 4 p.m.

Major League

Maryland 6, Milton 0: The Delaware state champions were held to two hits in the Mid-Atlantic Regional opener in Bristol, Connecticut.

Jase Mitchell and Frankie Fuscellaro had the hits for Milton. Milton plays next on Tuesday at 4 p.m. against the loser of Monday’s game between New York and Pennsylvania.

8-9-10-year-old

Pennsylvania 8, Camden-Wyoming 2: The Delaware state champions opened their East Regional tournament with a setback to Pennsylvania. It will face New York today at 5 p.m. in the second game of four-game pool play.
