Linda Sue Parks Glenn, 60 CAMBRIDGE - Former Cambridge, resident Linda Sue Parks Glenn, died at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky., on April 7, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. She was 60 years old. Linda had been in failing health for several years. Born on June 1, 1949, in Cambridge, she was the daughter of Nancy and the late Calvert Parks of Wingate, Md. Linda grew up in Wingate and spent the majority of her life in the Cambridge area. During her school years, she discovered a love of writing and penned many short stories. This love of writing continued into adulthood with clever poems, short stories of whimsy, humor and sweetness. Linda was also very athletic in school and earned many ribbons for jumping and running. Many said she was known to outrun every boy that challenged her during her school years. Linda graduated from South Dorchester High School in 1967. Following high school, Linda worked at Western Printing for a few years before starting a family. Later in life some of her employment included The Cinderella Shop, Razzle Dazzle, and Hi-tech Plastics. Linda's greatest accomplishments centered around raising her children and entertaining her family with humor and creativity at family functions. Linda loved being near the water and enjoyed fishing with her father and her family. In 1991, Linda met her current husband, Jacque L. Glenn while living in Woolford, Md. Linda and Jacque moved to DeFuniak Springs, Florida to raise cattle and manage their farm for several years before moving back to her husband's native State of Indiana to continue cattle farming. Linda enjoyed every detail of life. She kindly reminded all to do the same as "life was not a dress rehearsal." Her kindness was infectious. Linda was loved by her family and friends. She was unique, sensitive, supportive, creative and joyful. Her son Monte describes her "as a hippy before there were hippies. A believer, survivor, and a quiet rebel. Wanderlust secretly ran through her veins. In the end, she was a selfless woman, who wanted nothing more than happiness for the ones nearest her heart. She is now free to roam where she pleases, without fear or pain." Surviving besides her loving husband, Jacque, are her son, Monte Aaron Brannock (and soul mate Camilla B.R. Lewis) of Cambridge; daughter, Danielle Brannock Foster (and husband Jay) of Tallahassee, Fla.; one grandson, Braden William Foster of Tallahassee, Fla.; her mother, Nancy Holliday Parks of Crapo, Md.; and two sisters, Angela Parks of Cambridge, and Debra Parks of Ocean Pines, Md. Linda is also survived by her niece, Tabitha Shockley and her son Devin; and by a nephew, Scott Frankel and children Christopher and Whitney; her traveling buddies, Aunt Diane Glover and JoAnne Nabb; many, many special aunts, cousins, and an uncle; and caregivers and friends Evelyn Richardson and Tonney Ratliff of Indiana. Preceding her in death was her father, Calvert O. Parks of Wingate, Md.; her paternal grandparents, Robert and Anna Parks of Wingate; and her maternal grandparents, Robert and Susie Holliday of Cambridge. The family is hosting a celebration of Linda's life at the Cambridge Yacht Club on May 2, 2010, from 4 to 6 p.m. Memorial offerings may be made to the American Cancer Society, Attn: Dorchester County Division, P.O. BOX 163, Salisbury, MD 21803; or to the Dorchester County Humane Society, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.
