FEDERALSBURG - Linda Kaye Hastings Elliott returned to her proper home on January 2, 2015 from Easton Memorial Hospital after a long battle with Cancer. Her married life was spent in Federalsburg, but she had strong roots in her home town of Bridgeville, Del. Daughter of the late William and Marie Hastings and preceeded in death by sister, Carol Hastings Gilligan. She leaves behind a husband, David Ronald Elliott; a daughter, Lisa Elliott Weigard and her husband, Tim Weigard of Shrewsbury, Pa.; a son, Bryan Elliott of Federalsburg; and her baby, Jody Elliott Fowler, married to James Fowler, Sr. of Federalsburg. She also leaves six grandchildren, Angel Henry, Maya Weigard, Cole Weigard, James Fowler, Jr., Jalissa Fowler, and Elexis Elliott. She also loved MacKenzie Oakes and Josh Oakes, children of Ginger Oakes engaged to Bryan. She graduated from Bridgeville High School in 1968, received her Nursing diploma from McQueen Gibbs School of Nursing in 1971 and worked in Maternity at Easton Memorial for over 25 years. She also worked with Dr. Regis Storch and Dr. Langfitt of Easton. Oh how many babies she welcomed into the world with her calm and loving nature. She enjoyed traveling and told great stories about visiting her relatives in North Carolina, a trip with a sweet sister-in-law to Hawaii, and enjoyed her favorite country music in Nashville. She was an avid reader, knitter, and the love she showered upon her children and grandchildren was limitless. She was an unsung hero…taking no praise, humble and meek. I have no doubt she is now hearing the words, "Well done, my good and faithful servant". Services will be held at Union United Methodist Church in Bridgeville, Del. on January 23 at 2 p.m. Visitation 1-2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please mail donations to the Caroline County Hospice Foundation via: 613 S. Fifth Ave, Denton, Md. 21629 Attn: Linda Elliott Memorial. Denton Hospice would have been her preferred option had it been opened in time.
