BEAR - Linda Kay Ettenger, formerly of Dover, died on Aug. 29, 2013. She attended Caesar Rodney High School and graduated in 1968. She most recently worked in banking and had a 17-year career with MBNA/Bank of America. During that time, she advanced to several different departments within the bank and most recently worked with the Risk and Fraud department. Prior to banking, she co-owned a retail business, A. Ettenger shoe store, in Dover for many years. Her earlier work experiences included property management, car rental management, and positions in the restaurant business. She was an active and dedicated member of the Sunshine Foundation, New Castle chapter. This charity was special to her, and she assisted in organizing fundraising events including annual golf tournaments and flea markets to benefit the charity. She also volunteered as a Big Sister with the Big Brother Big Sister Foundation. She is predeceased by her former spouse, Arnold Ettenger; and former spouse, John Case, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Case Walters and son-in-law Fred Walters; five brothers and sisters, Judy Trevino, Ernest McGhee, Margaret Bell, Mark McGhee, and Mary Long, four grandchildren; Sarah Walters, Jacob Walters, Shelby Walters, and Kaitlyn Walters; and ten nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Wed., Sept. 4, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE. Friends may call beginning at 1 p.m. for a gathering and remembrance.
