Linda D. Wright, 69

HARTLY - Linda D. Wright, of Hartley, died on June 15, 2009, at Bayhealth Medical Center in Dover. She was 69. Born on April 7, 1940, in Millington, Md., to the late Howard McKnitt and Bertha McGinnis Blanchfield. She attended school in Chesapeake City. In the mid 1960's, she met Dallas D. Wright and on Dec. 14, 1987, they were married. After residing in Chesapeake City, they moved to Millington in the 1960's and to Caroline County in 1972. In 2004, they moved to Hartly. Two years after moving to Delaware, her husband of 19 years predeceased her. Mrs. Wright enjoyed soap opera's and her work in and around homes. She was a friend to everyone and was always willing to help. Mrs. Wright has seven children, Virginia Lee Shockley, William R. Shockley, the late Christopher Shockley, Wayne R. Shockley, Diana L. Shockley, Linda Wright and Priscilla Kelbaugh; 25 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and seven siblings, Gene L. McGinnis of Newark, Allen McGinnis of Hartly, Robert Phillip McGinnis of Smyrna, Mary Helen McGinnis of Hartly, Brenda Lee Heverin of Wyoming, Katherine Blanchfield of Dover, and Patsy McGinnis of Sudlersville, Md. Three siblings predecease her; Frank Paul McGinnis, Charles Blanchfield and Melvin Blanchfield. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 19, at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St., Millington, Md., where friends and family may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Busic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to defer funeral expenses in care of Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.fhnfuneralhome.com.
