CAMBRIDGE - Lillian S. Gore, 86, passed away at her home on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007.

She was born in Cambridge and was a daughter of the late George W. and Sadie Turner Sellers.

Mrs. Gore graduated Vienna High School in 1939. Some years ago she worked at Singer Shop, which was later the Gem Shop, where she worked as a manager in Cambridge. She later worked at Western Publishing for 20 years as an estimator. Mrs. Gore retired in 1981.

On Jan. 26, 1944, she was married to W. Hamilton Gore. Mrs. Gore was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, and had also been a member of the Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary, where she had worked as a volunteer and was a member of AARP and enjoyed traveling.

She was been in failing health for several months when she passed away.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years; eight nieces, Shirley Kramer, Teresa Hurley, Lois Howard, Carol Gunby, Joan Weld, Betty Jane Gannon, Barbara Barron and Barbara Carter; and five nephews, James A. Sellers, Vernon W. Sellers, George W. Sellers, Robert A. Sellers and Gene Theroux.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers, Leonard Sellers, Alton Sellers, Edward Sellers, Emerson Sellers and Benny Sellers, and three sisters, Victoria Willey, Ruth Johnson and Mildred Marshall.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. Douglas M. Ridley officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service on Tuesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 501 Race St., Cambridge, MD 21613. Pallbearers will be Vernon Hurley, Bob Kramer, Vernon Sellers, George Sellers, Gene Theroux and Robert A. Sellers.

Honorary bearers will be W. Harrison Spedden, Dr. Arthur S. Parker, James P. Raymond, Ed Jarrett, Hubert C. Trego and Cy Pritchett.
