Lida Katherine Horne

Lida K. Horne, 85
MARION STATION - Lida Katherine Horne died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, at Alice B. Tawes Nursing and Rehab Center in Crisfield. Born in Laurel, she was a daughter of the late Mary Agnes Massey Kinnikin and Clarence Paul Kinnikin.
She graduated from Mardela High School with the Class of 1953. She worked for 31 years as drapery specialist for Sears & Roebuck. She started at Sears when it was in Downtown Salisbury and later worked at the Sears stores in Salisbury Mall and Centre of Salisbury. She was a longtime member of the Stein Highway Church of God, where she served as Sunday School teacher.
She is survived by her daughters, Valerie E. Ellis of Catonsville, Md., and Karen E. Somers of Marion Station; a son, Tim Horne of Laurel; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Floyd Massey; and a sister, Dorothy Shupe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Leonard A. Horne; and a grandson.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021, at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.
Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
