Lewis H. Fisher Jr., 88

Lewis H. Fisher Jr. of Newark died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, in Christiana Care-Christina Hospital, Newark. He was 88.

Mr. Fisher was born Dec. 4, 1918, in Newark, son of the late Lewis H. Sr. and Bertha Alice Davis Fisher.

As a young man he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

A machinist by profession, Mr. Fisher was employed with the former Bud Co. in Newark for 25 years. He later worked in the maintenance department of the Newark School District until his retirement.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth V. Ireland Fisher, in 1976.

He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steven C. and Ann Fisher of Smyrna and Michael D. Fisher of Newark; a sister, Ethel Cornell of Newark; and two grandsons, Benjamin Fisher and Ian Fisher.

A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will follow in Head of Christiana Cemetery, Nottingham Road, Newark.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Labre Indian School, Tongue River Road, Ashland, MT 59004.
