LEWES — Timothy Littleton, 33, of Lewes, was arrested for aggravated menacing and related charges following an incident involving a handgun Saturday, Delaware State Police said.
Authorities said that, at approximately 11:17 p.m., troopers were called to the 20000 block of Plantations Road for a report of shots fired. They determined that Mr. Littleton had a verbal argument with a 37-year-old female acquaintance at the residence, Senior Cpl. Jason Hatchell said.
During the argument, Mr. Littleton displayed a handgun and pointed it at the female, police said. She fled the residence on foot, and a gunshot was fired.
The female was not injured, and she contacted police.
At the scene, troopers secured a perimeter and located Mr. Littleton in the woods behind the residence, Cpl. Hatchell said. The suspect failed to comply with troopers’ commands and was taken into custody after a Taser deployment.
Troopers also recovered a Smith & Wesson handgun near Mr. Littleton.
Three children were present inside the home during the incident, police said.
Mr. Littleton was charged with aggravated menacing, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, endangering the welfare of a child (three counts) and resisting arrest. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on a $70,000 cash bond.
