DOVER - Christian O’Leary, 30, of Lewes, was arrested on burglary and related charges following an investigation that began on Wednesday morning, authorities said.
According to Delaware State Police spokesman Senior Cpl. Leonard DeMalto, at approximately 6 a.m. on Wednesday, troopers responded to the Ernest DiSabatino and Sons construction site on W. Big Woods Road regarding a burglary complaint. The ensuing investigation revealed that two persons had broken a lock at the front gate of the site and loaded a pickup truck with approximately $20,000 worth of copper wiring.
The persons caused damage to surrounding equipment before departing from the area, police said. Investigation led to Mr. O’Leary and Jacob Steele, 34, of Dover, as being the suspects.
Warrants were drafted for both Mr. O’Leary and Mr. Steele. Mr. O’Leary turned himself in on Thursday, and Mr. Steele remained sought.
Mr. O’Leary was arraigned by Justice Peace Court 2 and released on $5,500 unsecured bond.
The men were facing charges including third-degree burglary, theft over $1,500, criminal mischief over $5,000 second-degree conspiracy, and criminal mischief.
