Lenora Sophia Jamar

ROCK HALL, MD - Lenora Sophia Jamar died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at 7:05 p.m. at Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown, surrounded by her loving family. Born Jan. 30, 1933 in Rock Hall, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Mary Hynson Zimmerman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Davis Jamar Sr. They raised three children in Rock Hall. Mrs. Jamar attended the Chestertown Elks Club, where she spent many Saturday nights playing pitch with friends. She was an auxiliary member of the Rock Hall Sgt. Preston Ashley American Legion Post 228. Lenora enjoyed crocheting, music, and watching television. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and bragging about them to friends and family. Mrs. Jamar is survived by two sons, William Carl Jamar and his girlfriend Anita Eastman of Ocean City, Md. and Robert Davis Jamar Jr. and his wife Mary Jo of Betterton, Md.; one daughter, Ina May Puppe Reed and her husband Rickie of Rock Hall; four grandchildren, Samantha and Mindi Reed of Rock Hall and Robert and William Jamar of Betterton; two brothers, Carl Zimmerman and his wife Margaret, of Daytona Beach, Fla. and Elmer and his wife Trudy of Chestertown Md. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, where friends may call after 1 p.m. Burial in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Memorials may be offered to the Rock Hall VFC. P.O.
