CAMBRIDGE - Lee H. Short, 94, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.
She was born in Taylors Island on Aug. 4, 1913, and was a daughter of the late James Daniel and Ruth Davidson Hurley.
She graduated from Cambridge High School and attended Cambridge Maryland Hospital for nurses training. In 1973 she married Edward W. Short who passed away on June 11, 1983. Mrs. Short worked for Sears for years but later was a homemaker. Some of her hobbies were crocheting and reading.
She is survived by her daughter, Ramona Dempster and husband, Richard of Salisbury; two sons, Sheldon McWilliams and wife, Geri of Hagerstown, Dan McWilliams and wife, Sunny of Cambridge; a very special niece, Kathleen Langrall of Cambridge; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mabel Hurley Jacksonville, N.C., several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Short was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family with her granddaughter, the Rev. Shelly McWilliams officiating.
Pallbearers will be Richard Dempster, Richard Dempster Jr., Jeff Dempster, Adam Dempster, Wayne Hurley and Thomas Hurley.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802-1733. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
