CRISFIELD - Lawrence R. Green, of Crisfield and formerly of Statesville, N.C., died Saturday, July 28, 2018 at McCready Memorial Hospital.
Born in Concord, N.C. on Aug. 10, 1936, he was a son of the late Ernest and Etta Morton Green. He had been a resident of Crisfield since 1989.
A graduate of the University of Miami, he was a master ceramist who owned and operated full service dental laboratories in North Carolina and Maryland for over 50 years. His specialty and passion was making gold crowns. After his retirement, he enjoyed working side by side with his wife at their store, The Weathered Porch in Crisfield.
Lawrence was a "Jack of all trades" who enjoyed tinkering, collecting, decorating at Christmastime, and spending time with his family. In his younger years he liked hunting, especially goose hunting. He was the North Carolina State Skeet Champion for many years. He also loved gardening and had a passion for growing tomatoes and okra.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Patty Green of Crisfield; children, Jason Sterling and wife Karen of Crisfield, and Linda Mayberry Houston, Ann Moose, Jackie Graves and husband Phil, and David Green and wife Elizabeth, all of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Donna Grant and husband Willie, Justin Mayberry and wife Brittany, Bradley Moose and wife Brittany, and Jonathan Graves; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Alleze Green, his twin, Florence Green, and Mary Ruth Green; and a brother, J.W. Green.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to help the family with final expenses may be made to Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home, 306 W. Main Street, Crisfield, MD 21817.
