CAMDEN - Laurie Jean Rukki died Sunday Sept. 23, 2012 at Kent General Hospital. Laurie was born March 3, 1959 in New York, N.Y. to Erna Butters and the late Stephen Butters. She graduated from Ocean Township High School, N.J. in 1977. Laurie was a New Jersey resident until 2011 when you she moved to Camden, Del. with her husband. She worked at Ft. Monmouth, N.J. before becoming a homemaker. Laurie enjoyed bird watching, music, cooking and all her pets. She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Ashbury, N.J. Laurie is survived by her mother Erna Oka of Eatontown, N.J.; her husband of 27 years, Theodore "Ted" Rukki of Camden, Del.; daughter, Danielle Rukki of Howell, N.J.; brothers, Robert Butters of Landson S.C. and Tom Butters of San Diego, Calif. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Letters of condolence may be sent and the guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
