WOODBURY, N.J. - Laurena E. Stanley, 81, passed away on Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at Underwood Memorial Hospital in Woodbury, N.J.

She was born on Dec. 21, 1925, in Cambridge, a daughter of the late Viola and William Rhodes.

She is survived by a daughter; Marian V. Stanley of Lindawold, N.J.; two sons, McDaniel of North Carolina and Louis (Alice) Stanley of Florida; two sisters, Marian Woolford of Salisbury and Marie (Elsbur) Todd of Cambridge; three brothers, Henry Rhodes of Colorado, Daniel (Dolly) Rhodes of Hurlock and Arthur Rhodes of Salisbury.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Levi H. Stanley; a son, Levi E. Stanley and two daughters, Barbara and Lavern Stanley.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, at the Faith Community Church, 4111 East New Market-Rhodesdale Road in East New Market. A viewing will be held from 9-11 a.m. preceding the service. Burial will be at the Mount Pleasant U.M. Church in Salem.

Arrangements are being handled by the Bennie Smith Funeral Home.

Martha Sue Edmonds

CAMBRIDGE - Martha Sue Edmonds passed away on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge. She was the daughter of the late Katie Smith and Willie King.

She was born Oct. 29, 1951, in Dorchester County and attended Moton High School in Easton. Martha moved to Florida for a long period of time and then she returned home to Easton, where she worked at H&G restaurant and the Neighborhood Center in Easton. Then she moved to Cambridge, until her death.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Katie Smith and her father, Willie King.

She leaves behind a son, Jamie Green (wife) of Salisbury; a very close partner, Joe Haynes of Cambridge; four sisters, Ida (James) Guy of Cordova, Mossile (Andre) Thurman of St. Michaels, Mary (Kenneth) Brown of Laurel, Del., Susan King of Jessup; four brothers, Willie Allen of Princess Anne, Robert Allen and Betty Sprules of Baltimore, John (Christine) Allen of Cambridge and David King of Baltimore and numbrer of nieces ,nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, from 5-7 pm at Henry Funeral Home, PA, 510 Washington St., Cambridge. Burial will be private at the family's convenience.
