LAUREL — A 29-year-old Bridgeville man was arrested on felony resisting arrest, DUI, and multiple traffic charges following a hit-and-run accident Tuesday night, Delaware State Police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Heather Pepper said.

Troopers were initially called to 30410 Seaford Road at approximately 8:30 p.m. for a hit-and-run accident, Cpl. Pepper said. Investigation determined that a Chevrolet Express work van was struck when a Ford Ranger pickup truck crossed the center line and struck the van, police said. The pickup truck failed to stop and continued traveling on Seaford Road, authorities said.

The driver of the van was uninjured during the crash.

Later, according to police, officers in Laurel saw the suspect vehicle being pushed by another vehicle on South Poplar Street before it became struck on railroad tracks.

Gerson Adaquin was subsequently taken into custody and also charged with resisting arrest, failure to comply with taking of photos and fingerprints, leaving the scene of a property collision accident, disorderly conduct, and multiple traffic offenses.

Mr. Adaquin was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $2,080 secured bond.
