
SMRYNA - Larry W. Dutton, Sr. passed away at Kent General Hospital in Dover on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013. Mr. Dutton was born May 16, 1950 in Elkton, Md., the son of the late Roger and Glenna Dutton. He served his country with honors in the US Marine Corp. during the Vietnam War. Mr. Dutton was a member of the Smyrna-Clayton VFW Post 8801. Larry was a former baseball umpire for Smyrna-Clayton Little League. He enjoyed Flyers hockey, Phillies baseball, playing cards, bbq's and going to the beach. He was also a NASCAR fan, especially of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. For the past year, he loved living at Emeritus Assisted Living in Dover where he played bingo, Chinese checkers, and enjoyed Friday happy hour. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ginger Mortenson and Betty Schelts. He is survived by his son, Larry Dutton, Jr. and his wife, Niki of Dover, Del.; his daughter, Penny Dutton and her fiancée, Steven Ursitti of Middletown, Del.; his brother, Roger Dutton, Jr. and his wife, Mary of Clayton, Del.; his sister, Sharon Jackson and her husband, Charles of Palmyra, N.J.; two grandchildren, Marissa and Gavin Dutton of Dover, Del.; several nieces and nephews; and his granddog, Koda. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening, Feb. 5, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m., and again on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St., Smyrna. Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 11 a.m. Burial will be held in Glenwood Cemetery in Smyrna.
