SMYRNA - Larry Glenn Bower passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013. Mr. Bower was born on Oct. 8, 1943, the son of the late Glenn and Margaret Bower of Hunlock Creek, Pa. He retired in 2002 from Willis Chevrolet of Smyrna after over 20 years of work in the auto body and collision repair center. Larry was a devoted member of Word to the Bride Tabernacle in Newark, Del. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a NASCAR fan, especially of Jeff Gordon. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Elaine; three daughters, Debbie Fie and her husband John, of Newark, Brenda Darrell and her husband Brian, of Clayton, and Tanya Lyons and her husband Terry, of Dover; seven grandchildren, Michael, Elizabeth and her husband, James, Brian, Matt, Steve, Chris, and Jenny; his great-granddaughter, Olivia; and his sister, Cheryl Todd of Arizona. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located on 29 S. Main Street, Smyrna. Memorial services will begin at noon. Burial will be privately held in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Word to the Bride Tabernacle Building Fund, in c/o Pastor Joseph Shrewsbury, 706 Donald Drive, Newark, DE 19713.
