MILLSBORO - Kiwanis La'shon Burton, known as "Kiwan" to most, and as "Hucka Buck" to his family, was born to Gina Burton and Lentford "Mike" Handy on November 22, 1989 in Lewes. He departed this life on Wednesday, March 5, 2014. Kiwan graduated from Sussex Central Senior High School in Georgetown. He received a certificate of study in the auto mechanics trade from Keystone Job Corps. Kiwan used that skill as an employee at Murphy's Auto Repair in Philadelphia, Pa. Kiwan spent most of his life in Millsboro with his grandfather, Donald Hitchens. He left Delaware to stay in Philadelphia for a brief while, but returned home because he missed his family. Kiwan was a shy young man with a beautiful smile. He was known for his basketball skills and his love for eating. Not a man of many words, Kiwan had a particular way of letting you know that he was listening during a conversation. He would affirm that he was listening by saying "hmm, hmm". His answers to your questions would be short and direct, nothing more. When he said "okay" that was his way of indicating that he was done with the conversation. The memories of his life are left to be cherished by his parents, Gina Burton of Millsboro and Mike Handy (Erin) of Frederica; grandparents, Donald Hitchens and Faye Burton of Millsboro, Kevin Dennis of Millsboro; six sisters, Latroya Burton of Millsboro, Michele'le Whaley and Najwa Whaley of Dover, Ayonna Maddox of Bridgeville, Mikeya Johnson and Jayla Johnson of Seaford; two brothers, Jamar "Lil Mike" Handy of Laurel, Justin Walls of New Castle; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The funeral will be 12 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Pentecostal Church of God of Lincoln, 26890 Greentop Road, Lincoln, Delaware 19960 where friends may call two hours prior. See
