SMYRNA - Kimberly Lynn Griffin MacDonald, age 43 of Smyrna, passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, surrounded by her family and friends at Christiana Care Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer for over six years. She was preceded in death by her loving father, Arthur J. McGee (Art); her brother, Joseph P. McGee (Joey); and her grandparents, William R. McCabe, Jr., Marion Ellen Brasure McCabe, and John and Eleanor Becker. She is survived by her son, Ronnie J. Pleasanton, Jr.; her husband, Gregory D. MacDonald; her mother, Theresa McCabe McGee; her sister, Cheryl Ann Griffin; her father, Jerry Glenn Griffin; her brothers, Todd G. Griffin and Michael J. McGee; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her all over the world. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014 at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford, DE 19945. A funeral service will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in her name to the 1CW Foundation to help support families with cancer related illness, a cause she supported for many years.
