DOVER –– Kent County Levy Court unanimously approved the appointment of Carolyn Cohee to the Dover/Kent Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Public Advisory Committee.
MPO is the federally designated agency responsible for coordinating transportation planning and programming in Kent County, Delaware, including all of Milford and Smyrna.
Plans and programs adopted by the MPO outline how federal transportation funds will be spent and must comply with federal laws governing clean air and transportation.
Ms. Cohee is currently the chief operations manager and chief estimator of DelDOT’s Maintenance and Operations department and is one of six committee members representing Kent County.
She will replace Ed Maron who resigned from the committee last October.
In other business, Levy Court announced its employee of the month for May at Tuesday’s Levy Court business meeting.
Kathleen Skinner of the Office of the Kent County Sheriff was given the award.
Ms. Skinner has worked for the county since September 2003 and serves as the administrative secretary for the Sheriff’s office.
Prior to 2012, she worked with Planning Services.
