Kathryn P. Lewis
CAMBRIDGE - Kathryn (Kathy) Poulton Lewis, 56, died Saturday afternoon, Dec. 9, 2006, at home.
Born on Oct. 30, 1950, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn Poulton. She was raised in Catonsville, and graduated from Catonsville High School in 1968. The same year, she married Lloyd O. Lewis. He died in 1989.
In 1977, Mrs. Lewis moved to Ocean View, Del. In 1993, she graduated from Delaware Technical and Community College School of Nursing. She worked for Home Health Corporation of American for 12 years.
She enjoyed rollerblading, swimming, scuba diving, horseback riding, fishing and playing the piano. Gardening was a love both she and her cousin, Henry (Hank) Seipp, shared together.
Mrs. Lewis loved to sing and was a member of Beckwith United Methodist Church in Cambridge, where she sang in the choir. In November of 2001, she sang "God Bless America" at the Grand National Waterfowl Association Banquet.
She and Hank enjoyed traveling. They went to Maui, Hawaii, several times where they loved the whale watching. During the last 10 years, she and Hank were inseparable and did everything together.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by Henry F. (Hank) Seipp, her cousin, of Cambridge; cousins, Susan S. Brunquell and children, Chris and Julie Brunquell; John C. and Charlotte Seipp and son, Andrew Seipp; cousin, Louisa B. Reynolds; five step-children, David Lewis, Richard Lewis, Raymond Lewis, Barry Lewis and Virginia Lewis Bush; and nine step-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents and husband.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A., 308 High St., Cambridge.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, at 10 a.m. where the family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service. Officiating will be the Rev. Don A. Schell, pastor. Burial will follow at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, 352 S. Gulph Road, King of Prussia, Pa. If someone intends on going to the cemetery, kindly advise the funeral home staff.
A memorial service will also be held for her at Beckwith United Methodist Church on Saturday, at 2 p.m. Officiating at the service will also be her pastor, the Rev. Don A. Schell.
