PRINCESS ANNE - Kathleen Shores Hall, of Monie, near Princess Anne, died Friday, August 14, 2009, in her home after a long battle with cancer. She was 99. Kathleen was born May 9, 1910 in Chance, Md., to Ruby Parks Shores and Samuel Edgie Shores. Her husband, George A. Hall died Oct. 4, 1996. She was a member of St. Peters United Methodist Church in Oriole and a member of the United Methodist Women. She also enjoyed going to the Deal Island Mac Center before she was home-bound. Kathleen worked at His Nibs Shirt Factory in Princess Anne and Manhattan Shirt Factory in Salisbury for many years. She was preceded in death by a brother, Wilson Shores; and a sister, Hannah Shores Dent. She is survived by three children, Leroy A. Hall Sr. and his wife Rita Hall, of Monie, George S. Hall of Jacksonville, Fla., and Patricia H. Laird of Venton; eight grandchildren, Andy Hall and his wife Joanne, Debbie Malone, Sammy Hall and his wife Susan, Judy Price and husband Donnie, Brian Laird and his wife Vickie, Charles Laird and wife Donna, Larry Carter and his wife Jean, and Marian Wall; 17 great-grandchildren, Darryl Malone and wife Brenda, Renee Malone, Jenny Bennett and husband Billy, Sammy Hall Jr., Joanne Perry and husband Doug, Jill Price, James Price, Brian Laird Jr., Katie Travers, Eric Laird, Grayson Laird, Billy Ward, Chase Cullen and Ross Cullen and wife Panda, Terry Poole and husband Bob, Donna Moul and husband Jimmy, and Jeffrey Carter; eleven great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne. The Rev. Carol Loy officiated. Interment was in St. Peters United Methodist Cemetery in Oriole.
