NEWARK - A 12-year-old female juvenile was arrested after making a threatening comment towards a Newark area elementary school Monday, Delaware State Police spokesperson Senior Cpl. Jason Hatchell said.
Cpl. Hatchell said that at approximately 3:25 p.m. Monday, Academia Antonia Alonso Charter School at 300 N. Wakefield Drive received a telephone call from an anonymous subject who made a threat against students and an administrator of the school. Troopers responded to the school and secured the scene.
A suspect was indentified through an investigation, police said. The juvenile turned herself in on Tuesday at Troop 1, where she was charged with terroristic threatening.
The juvenile was released to a guardian and will appear at the New Castle Family Court at later date.
