SUDLERSVILLE - June E. Heverin of Sudlersville, Md, passed away on Feb. 5, 2014 in University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore, Md. Mrs. Heverin was born on June 26, 1937, daughter of the late Metcalfe "Doc" and Esther Stafford Weller. She was a lifetime resident of Sudlersville and was a 1955 graduate of Sudlersville High School where she enjoyed playing basketball. In 1955 she married and began raising her family. In her later years she worked beside her husband with Standardbred Horses, racing at area tracks. She also worked in retail and for the Queen Anne's County Senior Center in Crumpton. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, reading her bible and country music especially Conway Twitty. June loved her family and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Franklin D. Heverin in 2002. Mrs. Heverin is survived by her daughters, June Yeager (Henry) of Sudlersville, Joyce Hockaday (Tony) of Raleigh, N.C., Brenda Heverin of Millington, and Darlene F. Heverin (Bobby Fox) of Marydel; a brother, Howard M. Weller (Barbara) of Millington; a sister, Nancy Solloway (Robert) of Hartly, DE; seven grandchildren, Steven Yeager (Tiffany), Thomas Yeager (Stephanie), Billy Pierce, Joshua Pierce, Roland Rash (Michelle), Michele Rice and Delaney Fox; and 15 great-grandchildren. Friends may call on Monday, Feb. 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, Md., and on Tuesday, Feb. 11 from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral Service will follow at 11 am with burial in Sudlersville Cemetery. Memorials may be offered to the Kidney Foundation, 6110 Executive Blvd. Suite 1010, Rockville, Md. 20852 or to a charity of your choice.
