MAGNOLIA - On March 27, 2016, Judy Lawrence passed away at Jefferson University Hospital after a long battle with cancer. She and her husband Jerry have been residents of the Dover area since 1972. She was predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Cecilia Wasilewski; brother, Carl Wasilewski; her twin sister, Josephine "Jo" Pennella; and older sister, Jean Cusumano. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jerry of Magnolia; her son, Jeff and wife Paula of Edgewater, Md.; her son, Mark of Ocean City, Md.; her son, Chris of Middletown; and her daughter, Jennifer Jones and husband Glen of Raleigh, N.C. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; a great grand daughter; and her brother, John Wasilewski of Germantown, Tenn. Born in Nanticoke, Pa., she met her husband Jerry in high school and they dated throughout college. She obtained her degree from Wilkes University where her father was a Math Professor. After raising her family to teenagers, she taught Language Arts and Social Studies at Central Middle School for many years before retiring in 1994. She was often stopped by her former students who thanked her for the contributions she made to their lives. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she was an excellent homemaker, cook and mosaic glass artist. In her earlier years, she enjoyed attending and participating in her kids' sporting and extracurricular activities. She enjoyed reading, planting flowers on her property and vacationing at the family condo in Ocean City, Md.
