Juanita L. Matthews, 72 SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - Juanita L. Matthews, 72, of Sudlersville, died Feb. 2, 2010, in Chester River Manor, Chestertown, Md. Juanita was born on May 23, 1937, in Salisbury, daughter of the late Juanita M. Jackson and John Matthews. She was a registered nurse for Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del., for 43 years, retiring in 1999. Juanita was preceded in death by her sister, Joanne Massey; and devoted companion, Robert A. Edwards. She is survived by three brothers, Richard Massey and his wife Joan of Idaho, Dane Jackson and his wife Gail of Barclay, and Bryan Jackson and his wife Katie of Sudlersville; a aunt Ida Jean Jackson of Sudlersville; four wonderful friends, Barbara Lynn Noel, Donna Usilton, George and Wayne Edwards; a beloved dog, J.R.; and cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be noon Tuesday, Feb. 9, in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, Md. Burial will be in Galena Cemetery.
