CHESTERTOWN, Md., - Joyce Ann Harris, 70 of Chestertown, Md., died January 12, 2014 at home. Joyce was born on July 9, 1943 at her grandparents' home in Goose Hill, Md. She is the daughter of the late David and Louise Hicks Harris. She was raised in Kennedyville and attended Kent Center (formerly Angel Haven School) for the mentally challenged and physical impaired. Joyce has resided at the Moon House in Chestertown since 1999, provided by the Kent Center. She loved country music, dancing, eating at McDonald's, jewelry and her dolls. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Jean L. Harris. Joyce is survived by her sister, Buff Kircher and her husband Maynard, of Middletown, Del.; a brother, Clyde D. Harris, Sr. of Greenwood, Del.; niece's Tracie Robinson and Melanie Kircher and four cousins, Danielle and Brittani Kircher and John and David Wilson. A visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, Md., where services will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Kennedyville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to the Kent Center, 215 Scheeler Rd.
