SALISBURY - Josephine "Jo" Fields died Sat., Feb. 14, 2015, in her home in Salisbury. Born in Mappsville, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Nettie Cropper Watson. She was a 1948 graduate of the former Salisbury Colored High School. She retired in 1977 as a teacher's assistant from Pinehurst Elem. School. She was also formerly employed as a domestic engineer with the families of Robert Dickey, William and Judy Wyatt, Barbara Wyatt, William and Jean Smith, the late Edward Bounds and John Hess, of the former Hess Apparel. She was a member of Wesley Temple United Methodist Church, where she served on the United Methodist Women, Gospel choir and Culinary Arts Department. She was also a member of the Salisbury High School Alumni Association. Her late husband, Robert L. Fields Sr. died in 1980. A brother, James Howard Watson also preceded her in death. Her survivors include three children, Margaret Ann Morris of Delmar, Robert Fields Jr. of Orlando, Fla., and Shirley Jolley of Sharptown; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Watson of Salisbury; and a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held Sat., Feb. 21, 2015, at Wesley Temple United Methodist Church. Interment was in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Arrangements were in care of Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury.
