Joseph W. Stewart, 77

WEST PALM BEACH, FL - Joseph W. Stewart, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2009, in the Hospice Center at West Palm Beach. He had been a patient there since August 24, 2009. He was 77. He was born in Dorchester County on July 20, 1932. He was the son of the late Water G. Stewart and C. Maranda Stewart Mowbray. He was active in the U.S. Marines from 1951 to 1966. When he was younger, he was a member of The Salvation Army and was active in the Church. He is survived by three sisters, Edith Hubbard of East New Market, Kathleen Hastings of Cambridge, and Eleanora Simmons and her husband, Arlin of Okeechobee, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. There will be a full military ceremony at the V.A. Cemetery in West Palm Beach. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to The Salvation Army, 200 Washington St., Cambridge, MD 21613.
