FELTON - Joseph R.G. Albert of Felton, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital He was the son of the late, Isadore and Rose Albert. Mr. Albert served his country proudly, during the Korean Conflict, in the U.S. Air Force for four years, then worked for the next 33 years in civil service at the Dover Air Force Base as a jet engine mechanic for C5 aircraft. One of his main hobbies was reading factual reports and books. He was always striving to learn as much as possible and memorizing what he could. If it was in a book, he knew it. He passed along that knowledge to his children, and even built his current home together with his sons by his side. He was a stickler for keeping things straight and accurate. He was known for being easy going, and enjoyed being home surrounded by his family. He will be remembered as a loving husband and good father, and will be missed very much. He was preceded in death by a daughter, JoAnn Albert. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patsy A. Albert of Felton; daughter, Debra Strollo of Felton; sons, John D. Albert of Dover, David I. Albert of Felton; brother, Maurice Albert of Florida; sister, Joline Martel of Lewiston, Maine; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services will be private. Interment will take place in Barratts Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Melvin Funeral Home, visit our website at www.melvinfuneralhome.com for further information, leave a letter of condolence, or to send flowers.
