John W. Tobler

DOVER - John W. Tobler, 82, of Dover, passed away Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was born on Sept. 9, 1928, in Laurel Fort, Va., to the late Joseph and Perlita Puckett Tobler. He was a member of Dover Elks B.P.O.E. 1903, and the American Legion. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed spending time overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. He worked at Suburban Propane for 35 years. He is survived by his wife, Helen Tobler of Dover; son, John W. Tobler Jr. of Bridgeville; daughter, Linda Sue Marker of Hartly; grandchildren, Jaime Tobler Riggin, Amy Marker, Holly Marker, Douglas John Marker Jr.; and great-grandchildren, James Wooleyhand Jr., and Lia Joi Riggin. Remembrance Services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at Trader Funeral Home, Dover. Burial will be at the Lake Side Cemetery Dover. Friends may also call Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m., at the Trader Funeral Home, Dover. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to American Cancer Society, 92 Read's Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720; or American Diabetes Association, 100 West 10th Street, Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE 19801.
