SMYRNA - John W. Clarke passed away peacefully at the Seasons Hospice Wing of Christiana Hospital in Newark, Del. on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012. John was born June 25, 1937 in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., the son of the late Patrick J. Clarke and Agnes Murphy Clarke. At the age of 5, he moved to Staten Island, N.Y. and remained there until 1993, then was relocated to Delaware by JP Morgan. John graduated from Curtis High School in Staten Island, where he was on the track team. Mr. Clarke served his country with honors in the US Coast Guard from 1956 to 1960. He retired from JP Morgan after 37 years of service. After his retirement, John worked part-time at Vandergriff Golf Course and Garrison Lake Golf Course. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Elizabeth; four children, James Westgate, Mary Pearson, Robert Westgate, and Lisa Clark; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
