FELTON - John M. Cotton, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012 at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. John was born in Willimantic, Conn., the son of the late Richard L. and Alice (Chipman) Cotton. He was a truck driver for a construction company and also drove a school bus. He loved going to Longwood Gardens and enjoyed photography. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard B. Cotton. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Bonita Cotton of Felton; five children, Lani Cotton of Felton, Renee Heinen of Harrington, Jason Cotton of Felton, Amanda Oberdick of Felton, B. Mariah Minner of Bear; one sister, Millicent Chester of Conn.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at 1 pm in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Main St., Felton, where friends may call after noon. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Sandtown, DE.
