SMYRNA - John J. Dellera of Smyrna, formerly of Colonia, N.J., passed away on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014 at Kent General Hospital in Dover with his family by his side. Mr. Dellera was born Jan. 28, 1932 in Elizabeth, N.J., the son of the late Leonard and Rose Dellera. He served his country with honors in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. John retired after many years of work as a private business owner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter and Lou. He is survived by his loving wife, Josephine; two daughters, Karen and Jeanette; two grandchildren, Wade and Reid; his sister, Terry; and his cousin, Cathy. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 at 1 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, DE.
