FELTON - John Ernest Farley passed away Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 at the Delaware Veterans Home, Milford. Mr. Farley was born Oct. 2, 1926 in Maple Glen, Pa. to the late Albert E. Farley and Bessie Lee Farley Richards. He was a proud flag flying veteran who served in Japan and the Philippines during WWII. Mr. Farley worked for Dover Coca Cola Bottling Company for 46 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Walter L. Fox American Legion Post #2. Mr. Farley collected Coca Cola memorabilia and was always proud to show everyone and anyone his collection. He enjoyed NASCAR and was a Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan. Mr. Farley loved to putter around the house and could fix anything. He never met a person with who he could not hold a conversation. Mr. Farley loved his family and was so proud of all his grandchildren. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need and was known to always stop and help people stranded along the side of the road. He is so greatly loved and will be forever missed. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by brother, Albert E. Farley, Jr.; and step-father, G. Dewey Richards. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Anna Donophan Farley of Felton; daughters, Linda Pierce and her husband David of Felton, Jackie Furr and her husband Greg of Frederica; grandchildren, Jenna Lee Flowers, David Tyler Pierce, John Charles (JC) Sach, Caitlyn Ann Pierce, Angie Furr Muth; great-grandsons, Jaegen Lee Sach and John Lee Pierce; brother, David Lee Farley and his wife Pearl; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 2 P.M. with visitation from 12 - 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover, DE 19901. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions can be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Blvd., Milford, DE 19963. The family would like to thank Delaware Hospice and the Delaware Veterans Home, for the love and care that they have provided during the past several months.
