John Edward Jones, Jr. of Millsboro, Delaware, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025. Born on August 8, 1934, he was the beloved son of the late John Edward and Inez Jones.
A lifelong hard worker, John built a career as an HVAC mechanic, known for his unmatched work ethic and ability to outwork anyone. Even in retirement, he was always busy tinkering with projects around the house, tending to his garden, or heading out to fish. He took great pride in staying active and productive.
Above all else, John was deeply devoted to his wife of 71 years, Christine (Hickman) Jones. His love and care for her were steadfast and enduring throughout their life together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his cherished daughter Beverly Ann Jones-Heffinger, and grandson Jesse James Jones.
John is survived by his loving wife Christine; his son, John E. Jones, III; his daughter, Sylvia Lecia Stock; his 6 grandchildren and his sister, Ethel German.
Services will be private.
John will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to family, tireless work ethic, and quiet strength. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and deep-rooted values that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
