DOVER - John Drabbant, Jr. passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at home. He was born Feb. 22, 1930 in Vintondale, Pa. He had worked in steel mills in Johnstown, Pa. and at Air Mod as a machinist at Dover Air Force Base, Dover, Del. He owned and operated Electronics Service Company in Dover from 1959 until 2005. With his wife, Clara, they owned and operated Paree Claree Beauty Salons in Dover and Milford from 1970 until 2009. John also worked for International Sound at Dover and Harrington Race Tracks as a camera operator. He enjoyed going to auctions and sales, fishing and hunting, and playing the slots at the casinos. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary (Monyak) Drabbant, his wife, Clara, and brothers, George and William. John is survived by his brother, Robert Drabbant of Felton; sisters, Shirley Frank of Richmond, Va. and Arlene Warzel and husband Edward of Laurel, Md.; sister-in-law, Jennie Drabbant of Spring, Texas; daughters, Natalie and Mary; step-daughters, Carolyn Johnston, Marion Woods, Barbara Mills and Ruby Kinsey; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A special thanks to the Vitas Hospice, especially Diane and Claudette, for their wonderful care over the last 16 months. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 109 Dixon St., Harrington, Del. Interment will be at Sharon Hills Memorial Park, 2928 Sharon Hills Rd., Dover, Del. A visitation will take place at Berry-Short Funeral Home, Main St., Felton, Del, on Sunday evening, May 31, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 p.m.
